I woke up this morning and went to take a shower before heading to work. Suddenly, I realised my nose didn’t feel congested and I was able to smell the mint that came from my toothpaste. I was delighted that the nose blockage that caused sleepless nights, tiredness and discomfort a couple of months ago, was gone.
How did that happen?
I went to the meditation class after the New Year: without knowing that the class would start with the breathing exercise. I was guided to start practising the breathing technique – 4-7-8. I have heard of this technique but didn’t know it would help in self-healing for my body. I started with taking in my breath for 4 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and exhale for 8 seconds. A couple of practises during the class made me feel like I was out of breath. I was thinking this will be tough for me as I was suffering from nose blockage since the end of last year, and it didn’t really solve the problem with the medication I had over these past months.
Without hesitating, I continued the practice and meditated everyday by putting some time aside in the morning and evening. I paid attention to the air I inhaled, pushing the air to my nose and later to the other parts of my body. When I exhaled, I felt the air was like pulling out all the toxins and waste from my body. The rhythm of the breathing was getting smoother week by week. I didn’t expect any result from the practice and just follow through the guidance.
In fact, my body started the healing process without me noticing. The technique with consistent practice gave my body the time to heal. I would never again doubt this remedy. I have stopped the medication and continue to do this everyday. I had better sleep and I have my senses back.
